Exciting Opportunity: Network Engineer for Cutting-Edge Submarine Communications Systems
SAIC is seeking a Network Engineer to join our dynamic team, supporting the development and maintenance of innovative communication systems for NIWC PAC. What You'll Do:
- Design, analyze, and optimize network architectures for advanced submarine communication systems.
- Lead validation, verification, and system testing, ensuring robust and reliable operations.
- Provide expert recommendations on components, functionality, and schedules to achieve mission goals.
- Document, maintain, and improve lab systems, while offering system administration and troubleshooting support.
- Build, troubleshoot, and document networks using Layer 2 and Layer 3 diagrams.
- Ensure compliance with security and operational standards, including NETSEC directives, IAVA, and IAVM.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering, and 10+ years of relevant experience (or commensurate experience).
- Proven expertise in network monitoring, management, and control.
- Strong skills in WAN design, including firewall configuration and integration.
- Experience with backup and restoration of systems.
- Ability to design and implement network architecture aligned with military and commercial standards.
- Familiarity with DoD accreditation processes, such as DIACAP and RMF.
- Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance after start
- Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Current Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within six months).
- Knowledge of Hyper-converged architectures and fundamentals of networking and firewalls.
- Certification as a VMware Certified Professional.
- Six years of hands-on experience translating requirements into network and HCI designs.
- Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to secure network equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio, Project, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
