- Medical Coder II : Salary - $50,000- $60,000
SAIC is looking for a Full-Time Remote Medical Coder II to provide remote medical coding support to government Medical Treatment Facilities assigned under the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Coding Program Branch. This position is 100% remote and can be performed anywhere in the United States.
Applicants must be able to accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes for facility and professional services for Day Surgery (Ambulatory Procedure Visit (APV)), Dental surgical procedures, Observation, Emergency Department (ED), outpatient ERSA, outpatient procedures, outpatient specialty encounters, and any outpatient primary care encounters billable to a third party .
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
Coding contract personnel in this position are required to possess a minimum of four (4) years of medical coding and/or auditing experience in two (2) or more medical, surgical, and ancillary specialties within the past 10 years; OR a minimum of two (2) years of medical coding or auditing experience if that experience
was in an MTF. A minimum of one (1) year of performance in the specialty is required to be documented to be considered qualifying.
Required Certifications:
• Applicants must have ONE of the following professional services coding certifications: RHIT/RHIA/CPC/CCS-P/COC
• Applicants must have ONE of the following facility coding certifications: RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CIC
• Medical coding personnel must maintain the required continuing education hours in order to maintain current and proper national certification (requirements for this position).
Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
