SAIC is seeking an accomplished and detail-oriented Senior Logistics Management Specialist to enhance our logistics support for complex information systems and major modifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing logistics support documentation, implementing logistics plans, and managing logistics databases and inventories. This role demands a high level of independence and leadership in applying logistics principles to specialized solutions, ensuring effective deployment and sustainment of systems.
This position is contingent upon award expected in Fall 2025. This work will be performed at the customer site in Crane, IN.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare logistics support documentation and source data, including logistics operational management/user documents, integrated logistics support plans, user logistics support summaries, post-production support plans, and logistics implementation plans.
· Ensure that all logistics activities align with project timelines and objectives.
· Apply logistics principles and methods to develop and implement specialized logistics solutions tailored to project needs.
· Optimize logistics processes to enhance efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
· Perform logistics database management functions, including database design, maintenance, and optimization.
· Conduct logistics inventories, ensuring all materials and equipment are accounted for and properly managed.
· Perform related logistics functions such as procurement, distribution, and lifecycle management.
· Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and proactive problem-solving abilities.
· Lead the implementation of logistics discipline, providing guidance and direction to junior logistics staff and project teams.
· Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in logistics management.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, program management, and supply chain, to integrate logistics support across all project phases.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred
· Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in logistics management or a related role, preferably within the defense or technology sectors
· Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Effective communication and leadership skills
· Ability to work independently and lead teams
Technical Skills:
· Proficiency in logistics management software and databases. Experience with SLICWave, Windchill, or Eagle highly desired
· Strong understanding of logistics principles, methodologies, and best practices
· Experience with integrated logistics support (ILS) and lifecycle management.
· Experience with Integrated Logistics Support Plans, Level of Repair Analysis, Lifecycle Sustainment Plans, and Provisioning highly desired.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
· Must be a US citizen
· Must be able to obtain an Interim Secret clearance
· Secret clearance preferred
