SAIC is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our team and take ownership of advanced financial management and analysis functions. In this challenging, fast-paced role, you will serve as a strategic partner to the Program Management Team, providing in-depth financial insights, supporting budget management, and forecasting processes. You will lead efforts in oversight of EAC (Estimate at Completion) and ETC (Estimate to Complete), subcontractor financials, labor management, and other direct costs. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SOX, and FAR regulations while driving process improvement and standardization across financial reporting and contract management activities.
This role requires a strategic thinker and data-driven decision-maker who thrives in a collaborative yet independent work environment. You will be directly involved in key decision-making, supporting Program Managers with financial insights, and ensuring operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities

Implements SAIC policies and procedures to ensure proper contract set-up in system to properly classify contract by revenue recognition type.

Functions as a liaison with Program Manager providing rate and budget information, and utilization and chargeability metrics.

Facilitates internal and program control processes: implements requirements, responsibilities, Revenue Recognition requirements, and develops financial reporting package.

Assists in the accurate development of the EAC and ETC, balance sheet analysis, and invoice generation; understands and can explain variation with regard to monthly actuals.

Analyzes key metrics, supports monthly financial reviews, engages teams, and advises Project Management in decision-making.

Functions successfully with limited supervision.

Independently plans, coordinates, organizes, prioritizes and manages workload while remaining cognizant of changing prioritizes and competing deadlines.

Inputs, edits, retrieves, formats, and transmits diverse reports and documents utilizing computer databases, spreadsheets, communications and other software packages with accuracy.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting with 10+ years of related experience.
Minimum 6 years of experience supporting Time & Materials (T&M) contracts or task orders, including creating, tracking, and reporting ETC/EAC performance metrics.
Minimum 6 years of experience reviewing and auditing travel expenses in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
Proven track record of improving and optimizing project accounting and management practices while ensuring compliance with federal regulations (FAR, SOX, GAAP).
Strong understanding of financial principles and methodologies, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue recognition, and cost allocation.
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, macros, and advanced formulas.
Experience with enterprise financial management systems (e.g., SAP, Deltek Costpoint, or similar tools) and database/reporting software.
Familiarity with financial modeling, data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI), and financial forecasting software is preferred.
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organization skills to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to multitask efficiently and progressively as a team member and independently, and work comfortably in an ever-changing environment.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Master's degree in a related field (e.g., MBA, Finance, or Accounting)
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or CMA.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) processes.
- Familiarity with government contracting tools and systems, such as Timesheets, Workflow Management Systems, or reporting for FAR-compliant environments.

- Clearance – Ability to obtain and hold a public trust position and favorable suitability based on a CBP Background Investigation
- Citizenship – Must be a US Citizen
- Location – This is a hybrid role (2-3 days on-site in Ashburn, VA), but candidates must be located in the northern VA area (Ashburn, VA).
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
