SAIC is seeking an Engineer Technician with practical experience in the management, control, operation, and maintenance of electronic test equipment and integrated testing systems to support afloat Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) major systems. This program will be part of a transformative venture, driving the future of next generation afloat mission effectiveness in response to evolving strategic and environmental demands.

This position is hybrid and the candidate must live within an hour of Pascagoula, MS.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee and manage a comprehensive inventory of electronic test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
  • Ensure periodic calibrations are complete and maintain records.
  • Perform diagnostics, and preventive maintenance for all test and measurement tools.
  • Develop and update instructions for test and measurement procedures, standard operating protocols, and vendor certifications.
  • Work in close collaboration with engineers, IT specialists, and other project team members to ensure test equipment is operating effectively and supporting operational goals.
  • Provide input for program-level decision making regarding test equipment updates, replacements, and modernization priorities.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • AA Degree in related discipline and nine (9) years or more relevant experience; Or, High School and five (5) years related ET experience with relevant certification. with relevant certification.
  • Hands-on experience with testing tools such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, protocol analyzers, and ATE systems.

Required Security Clearance and Certifications:

  • Must have an active Secret clearance on first day of employment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., IPC-610/620, Certified Electronics Technician (CET), or military-equivalent certifications such as NECs 14CM/14EM) are highly desirable.
  • Cybersecurity Workforce Level II cert i.e. Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP and a Vendor operating system certification: i.e. Microsoft, Cisco, RedHat, or Linux
             - Or must be willing to obtain/pass certifications within 180 days of hire

Desired/Key C3ISR, C4ISR, C5ISR, and/or C6ISR Shipboard Systems Experience:

  • Integrated Bridge System
  • Gyrocompass (e.g., WSN-7)
  • Surface Search Radars (e.g., AN/SPY-6, SPS-series)
  • UHF, HF, VHF Marine Radios
  • Shipboard Communication Cabinets
  • Shipboard Alarms and Interior Communications (Safety, Warning Systems)
  • Fathometer and Depth Sounding Systems
  • Global Positioning Systems (GPS)
  • Sonar Mission System (SMS)
  • Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Communications
  • NIPRNET, SIPRNET, SI LAN

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency with Windows workstation management and test software, including familiarity with networking scenarios analyzed through Splunk or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of network switches, fiber optics, and RF testing equipment (e.g., RF amplifiers, antenna analysis systems) to provide guidance on C5ISR system test setups
  • Familiar with utilizing C4ISR/C5ISR Interface Control Documents, Block diagrams, and Functional Interface Drawings.  
  • Proficient Soft Skills for engaging with individuals in person, on phone and in written mediums.
  • Ability to review technical procedures, test documentation, and reports.
  • Familiarity with software-based cybersecurity tools (e.g., Tenable Nessus, Metasploit Pro, Cisco Firepower) and associated testing requirements.
  • Direct experience preparing electronic systems and test equipment.
  • Experience in logistics coordination and vendor management, including procurement and equipment lifecycle planning.
