SAIC is looking an Electrical Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide Electrical Engineering support for Aerospace and Aircraft electronics and test systems for batteries (lithium ion as well as lead-acid, nickel-cadmium, nickel-zinc, and other batteries.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write procedures for testing batteries for future space satellite programs that support OGA, NASA, MDA and other agencies.
- Develop safety process engineering support and hazard assessments.
- Provide concepts, prototyping engineering support and requirements development and investigation of new battery systems and testing procedures.
- Support model making and prototypes.
- Assist with engineering investigations on Power and Energy systems, energy system investigations and review of studies, analysis, evaluations, and assessments provided to the Government.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering and 2+ years of experience. An additional four years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelors.
- Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance. U.S. citizenship required. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineer preferred
- Experience with hardware and software to optimize test equipment such as cRIO, NI/Arbin Test systems
- Experience with MatLab or LabView, C++
- Experience with design to meet DoD or commercial Aerospace or Space Energy systems and testing procedures
- Experience with electrical and power distribution characteristics of battery systems
