SAIC is seeking an RF Electrical Engineer to support the Air Force's next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system acquisition. Our customer is the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Program Office located at Hill Air Force Base, north of Salt Lake City, Utah. This will be a long-term project with the weapon system anticipated to remain operational until 2075. This is a massive development effort with many opportunities. We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer with a willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity to work on some of the most exciting and challenging development and acquisition efforts in the DoD with a great company.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Advising and Assisting the US Air Force customer in the acquisition of GBSD secondary launch platform command and control
  • Performing engineering analysis and evaluation efforts of complex digital electronic systems in the area of digital communications and digital signal processing
  • Ensuring necessary requirements are identified and captured in Government specifications as well as contractor delivered specifications
  • Ensure designs/drawings of GBSD secondary launch platform command and control meet the requirements and provide flexibility for future needs
  • Provide review and input to GBSD program documentation and milestones reviews

Qualifications

  • Bachelors and five (5) years related experience in Aerospace and Military defense. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered
  • Candidates must have previous design experience working requirements, design, and production of wireless communication systems to include digital processing, RF transmissions and baseband encryptions
  • Candidates must have knowledge of digital communication theory and experience in embedded processing
  • An active DOD Secret Security Clearance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
  • Wireless communication system development experience to include digital processing, RF transmissions and baseband encryptions
  • Experience with the development of hardware and software that are designed to operate/survive in a nuclear environment
  • Familiarity with the DoD acquisition process 5000.2, to include but not limited to: program phases, entrance/exit criteria, DoD acquisition documentation, and acquisition strategy
  • Experience working with Systems Applications and Products (SAP)
  • An Active, DOD Secret Security Clearance that has been granted or renewed within the last 5 years
  • Preferred Skills and Education ICBM domain experience is preferred but not required
  • Experience with verification test planning and verification test activity
  • Experience military hardware testing to MIL-STD 461 and 464
  • Systems and end item requirements validation and verification
  • An understanding of effective cybersecurity integration with engineering products and processes is desirable
  • Prior experience working with classified government IT systems is desirable
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering is highly desirable
  • Experience with any of the following tools and languages: Matlab, DOORS, Cameo, MagicDraw, UML, SysML
