SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Deputy Program Manager to join our expanding, multi-disciplined team of professionals operating out of our Identity and Data Sciences Laboratory (IDSL) in Upper Marlboro, MD. SAIC is a key performer supporting the DHS Science & Technology's biometric and identity research, development, test and evaluation initiatives. The successful candidate is detailed oriented and a self-starter and will be instrumental in the coordination, administration, and management of this unique program.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate across programmatic (e.g. schedules, financial) and technical aspects (e.g. research, systems engineering, test and evaluation) efficiently and effectively, with ability to ensure end-to-end closure throughout execution, identify shortfalls, and adjust program plans throughout the organization with ability to influence key decisions, and escalate issues at the appropriate time
- Support the Senior Program Director in the monitoring and analysis of schedule, cost and resource planning to ensure projects are completed on time and fulfill the objectives of the program
- Manage and monitor the working of various functional organizations supporting the Program
- Develop and adhere to budget baselines
- Maintain strong understanding of research initiatives, test events, and program status, with ability to brief to senior stakeholders and executives, as needed, on program schedule and financial performance.
- Develop and deliver presentations to Customers, leadership and program stakeholders
- Coordinate program logistical activities associated with test and evaluation events at the Upper Marlboro, MD facility or at locations in the continental US.
- Backfill the Program Director, as needed
Qualifications
Required:
BS and 9+ years of related experience (4 years in lieu of degree)
Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS public trust to start work requiring U.S.Citizenship
Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance after starting.
Supervisory experience in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
Hands on experience overseeing program financials and schedules to influence and execute program decisions
Experience in biometric research, software engineering, data science or systems integration in support of Government customers
Analytical, planning, program management and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional work groups, manage project teams and achieve results
High energy, ability to multi-task and a strong work ethic
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
