SAIC is hiring a Chemical and Nuclear Policy Analyst to lead chemical and nuclear surety support to Deputy Chief of Staff, Army G-3/5/7, Treaty Compliance and Surety Division (DAMO-SSD). The candidate will provide assessment of DoD surety implementation activities to ensure Army equities are appropriately properly vetted, and provisions of nuclear and chemical surety and accident and incident response are complied with. Successful candidate will identify any impacts on Army policy development, surety implementation and compliance activities, operations, force structure development, training, and resource management considerations arising from changes in surety policy guidance. This position is located in Arlington, VA and is hybrid remote. The candidate must reside in the NCR. Job Responsibilities:- Support and attend meetings, conferences, briefings, seminars, training courses, policy meetings, Tanks, inspections and exercises as directed
- Review information and provide reports from available information sources for items that have significance to the Army in matters relating to Surety-related matters
- Draft standard Army EXSUM, SIGACT, Information Paper, or Trip Report format, as applicable
- Review and provide comment on U.S. government, DoD, and Army documents and publications related to nuclear and chemical surety, including nuclear and chemical-related safety, security, safeguards, inspections, transportation, personnel security, and alcohol and drug use policy
- Support the revision of Army surety-related guidance by recommending draft language for the publications, establishing and participating in working groups, coordinating draft policy with Army stakeholders, serving as a technical liaison between operators, to include Army laboratories, and policy makers, and coordinating with impacted organizations in order to fulfill Army Publishing Directorate requirement
- Support implementation of and compliance with mandatory surety-related reporting
- Compile annual Nuclear, and Chemical Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) and Compliance Review Status Reports
- Provide an annual analysis of Nuclear and Chemical PRP Trends
- Conduct a semiannual Compliance Review of Chemical Agent Accountability Reports in accordance with the requirements in AR 50-6.
- Conduct a semiannual Compliance Review of NTA Accountability Reports in accordance with the requirements in AR 50-6.
- Update the Nuclear and Chemical Incident Books located in the Army Watch within the National Military Command Center and update POC lists.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- Bachelors and six (6) or more years' experience in a recognized engineering, scientific, technical, management ,or related discipline that is relevant to chemical or nuclear safety, security, or surety; Additional four (4) years experience in lieu of degree.
- Must possess a Top Secret clearance to start with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
- US citizenship
- Experience interacting with Service Staff, Joint Staff, and/or Office of the Secretary of Defense organizations
- Working chemical or nuclear surety implementation and compliance issues at a policy or operational level
- Planning, directing, and managing complex projects/operations with multiple POCs
