SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team.
This role involves working hands-on with Azure cloud services to manage and build infrastructure, networks, and support cloud migration efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Cloud Architecture and Management:
- Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable cloud network architectures for hybrid, multi-cloud, and edge computing environments.
- Utilize cloud-native services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, and Bicep, to modernize and standardize IT operations.
- Provision core Azure networking components such as Virtual Networks (VNet), subnets, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and route tables.
- Implement load balancing, VPN gateways, and firewall configurations to ensure secure and efficient network traffic flow.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Automation:
- Develop and maintain IaC scripts to automate the provisioning and management of infrastructure, promoting consistency and repeatability.
- Implement and manage configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet) to automate operational tasks.
- Utilize Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins to create and manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes.
- Automate monitoring, scaling, and healing of cloud infrastructure to enhance reliability and performance.
- DevSecOps Enablement:
- Develop and deploy custom CI/CD pipelines to accelerate software development, ensure cybersecurity compliance, and streamline deployment.
- Integrate security throughout the CI/CD lifecycle, including code scanning, vulnerability management, and supply chain risk management.
- Design and implement automated solutions to enhance cybersecurity operations, including threat detection, incident response, mitigation development, and compliance reporting.
- Kubernetes & Containerization:
- Deploy and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) using Azure CLI, PowerShell, or other available tools.
- Modernize application development and deployment through containerization technologies, such as Docker, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Implement service mesh solutions like Istio to enhance Kubernetes cluster networking, security, and observability.
- Manage container registries and ensure the secure deployment of container images.
- Monitoring and Optimization:
- Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights to set up comprehensive monitoring solutions.
- Implement alerting and incident management workflows to swiftly address and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Perform regular performance tuning and optimization of cloud resources to ensure cost-effectiveness and reliability.
Qualifications
Required Education:
Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud Solutions and Architecture.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and troubleshooting.
- Expertise with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps solutions and practices, as well as automation, Kubernetes, and containerization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work on-site in Alexandria, VA as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within the Department of Defense (DoD) environment.
- Advanced certifications in Azure (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert).
Clearance:
- Candidates must have an active Secret clearance.
