JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Army Navy Business Group currently has a career opportunity for an airborne command and control (C2) senior training analyst to provide live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) support to Tactical Training Group Atlantic (TTGL), Virginia Beach, Virginia, as a fleet training subject matter expert (SME).
The ideal candidate will be a former senior grade naval flight officer (NFO) from the carrier airborne early warning aircraft (VAW) community with high level (command and/or senior staff) experience in airborne C2 operations and at least one tour of duty implementing or instructing C2 principles, doctrine, and naval tactics, techniques and procedures (NTTP) as part of operations or training with naval strike group or fleet staffs or major training command staff. In addition, he/she will have ten years of applicable experience in/with:
Navy and/or Defense training operations, policy, doctrine, systems, and staff procedures, including an understanding of the OFRP, FRTP, FTC and other Navy training policies
Developing training curriculums and training management
Conducting fleet/ joint training assessments to identify gaps, training needs and solutions
Delivering training in person and/or online
Developing and modifying training event/exercise scenarios
Managing training projects
Leading teams and projects
Designing custom training to meet training objectives
Public speaking and presenting
Engaging Senior Staff at the Flag Officer/Director/Manager level in both written and oral formats
Handling multiple priorities and interruptions with minimal impact on productivity/deliverables
Specific Functional Area tasks include:
Assist government leads with the development of synthetic scenarios in accordance with
current Naval/Joint doctrine, TTPs, and forward deployed Fleet requirements; ensuring all
training objectives are accomplished.
Provide recommendations for the development of synthetic augmentation (entities, scenario
elements, simulator operators, etc.) to enhance live training exercises.
Assist in development of exercise documents to include manning documents, messages, and
orders, to include but not limited to OPORDs, exercise directives, MSELs, and exercise game
books.
Provide government leads with appropriate observations and lessons learned from LVC
training exercises to ensure relevant changes are incorporated in future exercises.
Qualifications
REQUIRED BACKGROUND / EDUCATION / SKILLS:
Must be a U.S. citizen with a Top Secret/SCI eligible clearance and Bachelor's degree.
Active military duty experience including recent significant operational airborne C2 experience.
Ten (10) years of general program analyst and Functional Area experience (14 years in lieu of degree will be considered); see detailed tasks above.
Minimum of one naval tour with high level (senior staff or major training command) experience operating, training, and/or lecturing on C2 principles, doctrine, and NTTP while training strike group or fleet staffs.
Proven written and verbal communication skills at the senior executive level with experience creating executive-level briefs and reports.
Proficient in use of MS Office applications.
DESIRED BACKGROUND / EDUCATION / SKILLS:
CVW/VAW (E-2C/D) operational experience.
In depth experience with the Navy Warfare Training System (NWTS) and use of Navy Mission Essential Task List (NMETL) methodology.
Experience with Tactical Warfare Modeling and Simulation Systems such as JSAF, JAWS, or BFTT, including the ability to build and execute complex tactical vignettes.
Experience integrating Joint assets into LVC events and developing exercise documents.
Familiarity and solid understanding of Fleet Training policy documents, including the Fleet Response Training Plan (FRTP) and Fleet Training Continuum (FTC), and Type Commander Training and Readiness manuals.
