The Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer I (ASQE I) is responsible for utilizing their essential Quality function 
experience and skills to support supplier quality development efforts and to ensure that the supply base is 
capable of meeting program and purchase order specification requirements. The ASQE I will have hands-on 
experience with Quality documentation reviews and support functions in the field of various commodities such 
as machining, fabrication, composites, and various assemblies. It is preferred the ASQE I be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance.

As an Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer l, you will: 

  • Successfully support and perform supplier QMS assessments and conduct process audits at suppliers
  • Participate and lead manufacturing feasibility (MFA) activities with suppliers identified for projects
  • Support supplier capability assessments (SCA) at supplier manufacturing sites when required
  • Support activity to ensure change management follow-up with suppliers is in place
  • Participate in drawing reviews, APQP and submission package support activity with suppliers
  • Complete supplier submission package reviews (PPAP, FAI, BU Specific) for external suppliers
  • Work closely with internal customers of supplied products to identify issues and improvements
  • Support development of internal procedures and work instructions to align with ROUSH QMS
  • Ensure efficiency of processes by suggesting and implementing continuous improvement ideas
  • Provide technical quality data, status updates and metrics to support sourcing recommendations

To be an Advanced Supplier Quality Engineer l, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field of study and 1 year of related Quality function (non inspection functions) experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience should include supply chain and quality activity
  • Recent experience in Quality functions in manufacturing in an automotive or similar industry
  • Experience in Engineering drawing interpretation skills and basic understanding of GD&T applications
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, and PowerPoint)
  •  Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge in the application of APQP tools (Process Flow, FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP) or similar
  • Basic knowledge in statistical analysis (MSA, SPC)
  • Knowledge of practical problem-solving methods (Fishbone Diagrams, 8D, Six Sigma, 5 Why Analysis)
  • Familiarity with basic metrology and precision measurement skills and applications
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, and inspection processes
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems and standards (ISO9001, IATF 16949, etc.)
  • Ability to be creative, flexible, and resourceful to provide a win-win resolution

A successful candidate may also have:

  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in the English language is strongly preferred
  • General machining knowledge or background
  • Some experience with Casting and/or Forgings
  • Previous experience with fabricated metal components
