Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Ambulatory Services - Pediatrics Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: The Clinical Patient Navigator for Pediatrics provides comprehensive support to patients and families throughout the continuum of cancer care. This role assesses and evaluates patient needs, offering individualized assistance from screening and diagnosis through treatment and survivorship. The navigator helps patients access and coordinate care across providers, hospitals, insurance systems, and community resources to ensure seamless, timely, and high-quality care. Serving as an advocate and educator, the navigator collaborates with internal services, outreach programs, and the resource center to deliver patient education and connect patients with necessary support. Additionally, this position acts as a trusted resource for patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, community organizations, and academic partners, promoting access to services and enhancing the overall patient experience.Starting Rate of Pay: $28.76 per hour Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in a health-related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in community, patient or customer-oriented support, or oncology support activities; or
2. Associate's degree in a health-related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in community, patient or customer-oriented support, or oncology support activities; or
3. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time experience in community, patient or customer-oriented support or oncology support activities.
NOTE: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience working with pediatric hematology-oncology populations, with an additional five years of patient navigation or care coordination experience strongly preferred. Candidates should bring expertise in supporting multilingual families and addressing language access needs, along with proficiency in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and adherence to HIPAA compliance standards. A strong understanding of community resources and the influence of social determinants on health outcomes is essential. Experience collaborating with schools and familiarity with student support services are highly valued, as is a demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary care teams to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
