Title: HRI Scientist Company: Health Research Inc. Department: Immunology Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: The laboratory of Dr. Pawel Kalinski in the Department of Immunology is looking for an HRI Scientist to work on research projects identifying the mechanisms of the regulation of different classes of chemokines in the tumor microenvironment (TME) and in dendritic cells (DC), aiming to develop more effective immunotherapies of “cold” tumors. The HRI Scientist will lead and assist in the execution of studies in the Kalinski lab, using human in vitro and mouse in vitro and in vivo models of immune cell function and mouse models of cancer. Additionally, the ability of experimental agents and treatments to boost the spontaneously arising and therapy-induced anti-tumor immunity will be explored. The incumbent will be involved in, preparation of scientific manuscripts and grant applications, as well as mentoring of junior members of the group. Mentored and independent grant submissions will be encouraged (although not mandatory) after the completion of the initial 3 years of research. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

1. M.D. or PhD in an appropriate field; or
2. Master's degree in an appropriate field

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Cancer Institute as following acceptable educational practices.

The candidate should have Basic knowledge of immunology. Ability to handle and perform research involving live mice including inoculation with cancer cell lines, injection of drugs, and monitoring tumor growth. Experience with maintaining long term cell cultures of primary human cells and murine cancer cell lines. Understanding of general research procedures such as basic microscopy and preparing stock solutions and reagents. Awareness of specialized laboratory techniques such as flow cytometry, ELISpot, PCR and ELISA.
