Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center has an immediate opening for a Chief of Gastroenterology within the Department of Internal Medicine. We are seeking a dynamic, board-certified therapeutic gastroenterologist with advanced endoscopy training to lead our expanding Gastroenterology Program. This is an academic appointment with a tenure-track position in the GI Program and the Department of Internal Medicine at Roswell Park.

The Chief of Gastroenterology will provide clinical and administrative leadership to the division. The successful candidate will set the strategic clinical, academic, and scientific goals for the division, while also maintaining a commitment to the highest standards of patient care, research innovation, and education. The Chief will work collaboratively with cross-functional clinical teams, including GI Surgery and Medical Oncology, to advance multidisciplinary care for patients with gastrointestinal malignancies and related complications.

Position Highlights and Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and management for the Division of Gastroenterology.
• Oversee recruitment, retention, mentoring, and professional development of division faculty and advanced practice providers.
• Set and implement strategic plans for clinical services, research initiatives, and educational programs.
• Collaborate closely with hospital administrators, GI Surgery, Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and other departments to drive program growth and operational excellence.
• Actively participate in the development, planning, and expansion of Gastroenterology services and clinical programs.
• Foster and develop collaborative clinical and translational research programs.
• Maintain an active clinical practice focusing on the endoscopic diagnosis and management of GI cancers and complications from oncologic therapies.
• Perform advanced endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
• Engage in the education and supervision of fellows, residents, and advanced practice providers.
• Represent the division at institutional, regional, and national meetings and contribute to Roswell Park's mission of excellence in patient care, research, and education.

Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

License and Certification Requirement
1. License to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York or License to practice as a dentist in the State of New York as required for the area of expertise.
2. Possession of a valid medical specialty certificate in area of expertise

Education and Experience
Medical Doctor degree or Doctor of Dental Science degree as required for the area of expertise, and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in the area of expertise including six (6) months in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity.

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
