Led by Dr. Richard P. Lifton, as The Rockefeller University's 11th president, the Office of the President (OoP) supports activities to advance the University's mission, science for the benefit of humanity.
Overview

Reporting to the Executive Vice President (EVP) and Corporate Secretary, the Executive Coordinator has wide-ranging responsibilities, serving as a key contact and liaison between the Corporate Secretary and members of the Board of Trustees, assisting the President and EVP in their tasks of managing and coordinating the administration of the University, and carrying out specific tasks and projects as assigned by the EVP.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as the liaison between the Corporate Secretary and Board of Trustees, including
    • Communicating with the Board of Trustees, recording and maintaining the proceedings of the University's Board of Trustees and its Committees.
    • Assisting the President and EVP in developing agendas, reports, outlines, and presentation materials for Board and Committee meetings.
    • Assuring the timely preparation and mailing of notices and written materials to the board.
    • Providing general support to Trustees, as may be required from time to time.
    • Appropriately implementing policy decisions or other directives by the Board of Trustees and its Committees.
  • Provides the highest level of administrative support and assistance to the President and EVP in their leadership and management tasks and responsibilities, including
    • Assisting in organizing, planning, and conducting meetings and activities of the University's Executive Officers Group (EOG) and Administrative Working Group (AWG); coordinating administrative cross-departmental collaboration on projects of importance to the Administration's agenda.
    • Serving as a key contact for the EVP to entities and persons external to the University at the EVP's direction.
  • Other duties and special projects, as assigned by the EVP.

 


Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree, including a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant work experience, is required. Advanced degree and prior experience in an academic or research institution is strongly preferred. Must be proficient in computer platforms, including MS Office Suite. Demonstrably excellent writing skills required and advanced skills in preparation of audiovisual (e.g., PowerPoint) presentations is strongly preferred, as is any experience in speechwriting. Strong technical proficiency and quantitative skills are required. Must have the highest level of discretion to handle confidential information.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and attention to detail and accuracy are essential. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task and work independently with a keen eye for customer service, as well as being a collegial and effective member of a working team. Initiative and self-motivation are critical. This position requires working on-site a minimum of 4 days per week.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on various factors, including but not limited to organizational budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. New hires are typically hired into the lower portion of the range, enabling employee growth in the range over time.

 

 


Compensation Range: Min

USD $110,000.00/Yr.
Compensation Range: Max

USD $125,000.00/Yr.
