Summary

VP Business Performance Management – Finance leads a team responsible for providing comprehensive financial oversight for their designated state(s). This includes managing the P&L with a focus on optimizing margins and driving overall profitability.  Key responsibilities involve collaboration with suppliers, state sales teams, and operations, as well as BPM Portfolio leadership on critical areas such as the Annual Operating Plan (both internal and supplier-focused), business forecasting, risk and opportunity assessments and full P&L reporting.  Additional areas of focus include pricing strategies, margin improvement, supplier accounts receivables, aged inventory management, and maintaining strong financial relationships with suppliers. This role is instrumental in ensuring financial targets, supplier objectives, inventory governance and strategic initiatives are achieved within the assigned state(s), directly reporting to an EVP or Vice President. 

In this role, you will
  • Guide a team of Finance Managers, promoting a data-driven culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement. 
  • Work with local and corporate leadership to establish, align, and monitor strategic objectives, financial growth targets, and key performance indicators. 
  • Lead financial aspects of supplier relationships, ensuring accountability and aligning with their strategies for profitability. 
  • Collaborates with Sales, the BPM Portfolio team, Corporate FP&A, and Accounting to deliver financial analysis and detailed commentary on variances from the plan to key stakeholders 
  • Manage the Market(s) long-range plan (LRP), annual Plan, and monthly/quarterly actuals and forecast/rolling estimate process. Oversee and establish the local budget (including CapEx and full P&L such as sales, gross profit, and all Opex elements) and budgeting process with FP&A, ensuring targets/goals are maintained and communicated. Incorporate local market intelligence and Supplier strategies into the planning process 
  • Deliver financial, profit and loss (P&L), balance sheet (inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable), and strategic leadership across the state(s) to make informed financial and business decisions. Aim to achieve market P&L targets and promote year-over-year business growth efficiently and effectively. 
  • Lead financial efforts in margin management and optimization for RNDC's suppliers in assigned states. Implement processes to ensure proper margin management continually. 
  • Evaluate business risks and opportunities, providing recommendations that impact the financial performance of the company. This includes suggesting mitigating actions or corrective measures if the business deviates from its plan. 
  • Analyze financial, sales, marketing, and performance data to present monthly reviews to cross-functional teams and senior management. This process enables informed, data-driven decisions, aligns actions to optimize opportunities, and mitigates risks. Additionally, evaluate metrics to track specific market trends, identify opportunities, communicate recommendations clearly, and collaborate with business leaders to maximize effectiveness. 
  • Provide insights on pricing, volume, and mix opportunities for the supplier division. Assist the revenue management team in identifying pricing opportunities that impact the division. Ensure pricing governance and program execution priorities are communicated across markets. 
What you bring to RNDC
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; Master's Degree preferred.   
  • Fifteen or more years of related experience, with at least ten years in management within the alcoholic beverage industry preferred.   
  • Proficient in analyzing complex documents, writing business presentations, and delivering persuasive speeches.   
  • Strong understanding of advanced mathematical concepts (algebra and statistics) for data interpretation.   
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Power BI; experience with supply chain software is necessary.   
  • CPA, CMA, CFA, or similar qualifications preferred but not required.   
  • Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to influence across teams and effectively communicate complexity to senior management.

Compensation

This compensation information is a good faith estimate and provided in accordance with California's state law. Similar positions located outside of this jurisdiction may not necessarily receive the same compensation. The salary generally starts at $192,300 up to $274,600, and is a combination of base salary plus monthly earned commissions if applicable. The salary is an estimate based on an applicant's skills and experience.
