Summary

The Director of Payroll Operations will spearhead the payroll department's functions within a dynamic multi-state, multi-frequency, multi-FEIN company operating across 40 states, serving 14,000 associates. This pivotal role bridges critical HR functions with employees to ensure seamless payroll operations, exceeding organizational objectives through strategic leadership and meticulous execution.

In this role, you will
  • Strategic Direction: Establish and drive the strategic direction of the payroll function, crafting a comprehensive 2-3 year roadmap aligned with the company's vision. Identify opportunities and mitigate risks to support executive leadership objectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing existing processes and developing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency. Champion change management efforts to foster a culture of excellence.
  • Data Integrity and Timeliness: Ensure timely receipt of all payroll data from partner departments, overseeing accurate and punctual payroll processing for all associates.
  • Leadership in Projects: Provide strategic leadership for payroll-related projects and implementations, serving as a key stakeholder in initiatives impacting payroll operations.
  • M&A and HCM Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in managing payroll aspects of mergers and acquisitions, alongside deep knowledge of Human Capital Management (HCM) systems.
  • Team Management: Lead a diverse payroll department of 18-20 individuals and two managers across multiple U.S. time zones. Conduct regular departmental meetings to align efforts and drive collective success.
  • Talent Development: Attract, mentor, and promote top talent within the payroll department. Develop managers, foster process efficiency, and facilitate continuous skill-building to optimize team performance.
  • Performance Tracking: Review, track, and implement actions to support desired outcomes. Utilize payroll metrics and analytics to monitor trends and expectations, ensuring timely and accurate execution of all payments.
What you bring to RNDC
  • Bachelors Degree in Business discipline or equivlent required
  • 7+ years or more of related experience
  • Payroll experience preferred 
  • SAP Success Factors experience is preferred
  • 10%-15% Travel
