Schedule Details: Daily outpatient clinic with 1 in 5 inpatient call at RHoW  

PMR Physician Job Description

As a Physician specializing in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at ProHealth Care, you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive care to patients with disabilities, injuries or chronic medical conditions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop personalized treatment plans aimed at maximizing function, mobility and quality of life for patients.

Responsibilities:

  • General Physiatry in an outpatient setting
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to diagnose and evaluate physical impairments, functional limitations and disabilities
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs
  • Implement evidence-based interventions, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, medications, injections and other modalities to manage pain, improve function and enhance quality of life
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, surgeons, neurologists and other specialists as needed
  • Monitor and adjust  treatment plans based on patient's progress
  • Provide patient education and counseling on self-management strategies, adaptive techniques, assistive devices and community resources
  • Inpatient unit coverage at Rehabilitation Hospital of Wisconsin (RHOW)
  • Participate in one of every five weekends on call at RHOW
  • Collaborate with case managers, insurance providers and rehabilitation facilities to facilitate transitions of care and optimize outcomes for patients
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinical outcomes at RHOW
