Schedule Details: Primary day time standard first shift hours, but this is a leadership position within the pharmacy team so ultimately hours may vary based on needs of the department. 

 

What You Will Do:

Emphasizes clinical pharmacy, protocol development and implementation; and investigational drug programs. Develops and reviews oncology protocols while also providing professional pharmacy support to the research drug program at ProHealth Care.

 

Epic Beacon Support:
  • Supports of frontline staff (pharmacy, nursing, medicine) for oncology protocol build questions, troubleshooting, build review.
  • Serves as a Liaison to Beacon/Willow IT teams for data and clinical review/decision making related to protocol/medication build/smart pump addition
  • Provides independent clinical build support (review of oncology and investigational combination drug protocols in relationship to clinical literature and current evidence-based best practice) to ensure completeness and patient safety.
  • Participates in the following committees as needed: Beacon Protocol Review, Beacon Advisory Council, Oncology P+T, ProHealth P+T.
  • Performs annual review of existing Beacon protocol builds to ensure ongoing clinical relevance and utility
  • Assists with data report development and execution.
  • Participates in the development of new oncology medication formulary monographs.

Investigational Drug Services: 

  • Represents Pharmacy on clinical research related committees (IRB, Oncology Research Steering Committee, Cardiology Research Steering Committee, Neuroscience Research Steering Committee and others as needed )
  • Performs clinical evaluations of all research studies proposed for implementation
  • Coordinates the procurement of investigational medications
  • Maintains accountability logs for all investigational medications.
  • Complete monthly investigational medication internal audits at all locations
  • Available for all cooperative group and industry sponsored study audits.
  • Coordinates and dispenses investigational agents.
  • Establishes a close working relationship with ProHealth Care's Research Institute and the research associates in the various venues
  • Provides staff education (pharmacy/nursing) related to investigational medications
  • Produces tools for frontline pharmacy staff.
  • Compiles and implements ongoing study communications from cooperative groups and sponsors as related to pharmacy activities.
  • Reviews and updates IDS written policies and procedures
  • Remains current with state and federal regulatory requirements and practices related to safe, ethical and quality provision of investigational drug services.
  •  Establishes a strong working knowledge of the Office of Human Research Protection (OHRP) rules.
  • Builds infrastructure for expanding research programs.
  • Designs productivity and volume tracking tools of investigational services
  • Reviews and monitors pharmacy resource budget for investigational services rendered.
  • Provides occasional oversight of students, interns or residents

 

Requirements:

  • Pharmacist (R.Ph. or RPh)
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
  • Valid WI driver's license and in good standing
  • Knowledge in Oncology, Investigational Medications, Epic/Beacon.
  • Board Certification in Oncology Services (BCOP)
