Schedule Details: Monday - Friday Day Shift with variable start times: 0730, 0800, or 0830On-Call rotation: 1 day every two weeks and 1 weekend every 8 weeks with Holiday rotation 

 

What You Will Do:

The Interventional Technologist performs both technical and general duties, including assisting physicians and other IR team members, by monitoring diagnostic angiography and interventional procedures on patients.

 

Requirements:

  • Radiologic Technologist
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Assists physicians and other IR team members during diagnostic angiography and interventional radiologic procedures as ordered by physicians.

Demonstrates clinical competency in all aspects of interventional radiology including; sterile technique, angiographic supplies and medications/lab test values.

Demonstrates knowledge of anatomy and angiographic systems and software according to established guidelines. 

Demonstrates continued improvement in mastering the technical factors associated with various interventional procedures, including anatomy and physiology, technique/equipment.
Demonstrates knowledge of medications and lab test values in order to administer contrast in a safe and effective manner. 
Communicates patient status to radiologist when patient condition warrants.
Demonstrates critical thinking ability. 

Implement proper patient positioning utilizing age appropriate
Maintain proper operation of all related equipment; reports equipment failures and operational concerns to appropriate radiology leadership for resolution.
Maintain inventory control and complete all patient charging assignments to maximize reimbursement.
Ensures accuracy and completeness of documentation and work performed.
Ensures safe patient hand-off pre and post procedure by utilizing SBAR.
Ensures the cleanliness of assigned equipment and rooms daily or after each use, maintains room in a ready state and prepared for next patient use.
Participates in the development of new interventional procedures and completes assignments related to performance improvement and data collection.

Completes all job specific orientation and competencies in required time frame.
Actively participates in department specific meetings and committees.
Actively participates in training and education for staff and new employees.
