Job Summary
Manages, coordinates and facilitates anesthesia services and resources at a facility or facilities within Prisma Health. Maintain consistency in implementing the Departmental and Hospital policies and practices in a manner the reflects organizational values and purpose statement. Works collaboratively with anesthesia and perioperative leaders to ensure a system approach to care delivery and coordination. Works as a peer of other anesthesia leaders across campuses. Designation of this title is made in collaboration with Human Resources, Campus and Departmental Leadership reflective of a supervisory scope of more than 3 locations and/or assigned FTEs (greater than 30).Accountabilities
Manages daily staffing to match workload and OR availability in an efficient and cost effective manner. - 20%
Manages and coordinates non-clinical functions to include education, staff meetings, quality review, and inter/intra departmental communication. – 15%
Addresses personnel issues for direct reports and in support of supervisors within span of control. - 15%
Actively participates in budget, planning, and quality improvement initiatives within the Department and Perioperative Services both at the campus and system level. – 15%
Actively collaborates with the Department and other campuses in recruitment and workforce strategy and planning. – 15%
Administers anesthesia to provide direct patient care. – 20%
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health or affiliate and will have direct reports.
Minimum Requirements
Master's Degree in Anesthesia
3 years as a CRNA is required; 2 years of anesthesia management experience is preferred
In Lieu Of
In Lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, In lieu of the Master's Degree in anesthesia, will accept CRNA's which graduated before December 31, 2003 from an advanced, organized formal education program for nurse anesthetists accredited by the national accreditation organization of the CRNA specialty.
