Summary
Job Summary: Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of Physician by performing various duties. Interact/communicate with ancillary services, emergency department, nursing services, social services, utilization review and others as needed to expedite inpatient care, orders, admission and discharge. Communicates with other mid levels and surgeons as needed regarding patient care, consults, and other needs that arise. Administers and orders diagnostic tests, and interprets test results for deviations from normal. Examines patients and utilizes electronic medical records, documents progress notes, orders, med reconciliation and other documentation as required. Makes daily rounds on inpatients as needed/requested by physician. Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and managing infection. Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs, counsels and educates patients and their families with condition, treatments, etc.Job Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program. One (1) or two (2) years related experience and/or training preferred. Current license listed with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts of KSBN. Current certification with the National Commission of the Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA), or National Certification from the AANP. Certified in BCLS and ACLS.
