Description

In collaboration with Operations, Finance, Regulatory, and Education, the dean provides leadership, strategy, and administrative management for the development of existing and new dental hygiene programs and courses. The emphasis is on meeting local, state and regional workforce demands through innovative delivery models. The Dean also provides expertise in current industry standards, regulatory compliance, and principles of best practice in Dental Hygiene.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Pursue targeted opportunities for industry partnerships related to program expansion and transplant opportunities in local, state, and regional areas.
  • In collaboration with the Dean of Instruction, manage new and transplant program development through strategic planning with the cooperation of Operations, Finance, Regulatory, faculty, staff, and advisory board members.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Instruction to facilitate articulation agreements with CTE programs and post-secondary institutions that create pathways into Dental Hygiene programs.
  • Innovate Dental Hygiene curriculum delivery and packaging to promote equity and access to higher education for members in our campus communities.
  • Partner with the Online Director of Education to offer innovative hybrid and distance education delivery models that align with Dental Hygiene education and contemporary workforce trends.
  • Provide customer service by being highly visible, responsive, and attentive to internal and external stakeholder needs and inquiries, reacting, prompting, and assisting in resolution.
  • Collaborate on and lead committee and task force work related to programmatic growth and existing program expansion.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in education, curriculum, health science, or another related field from an institution accredited by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation; Doctorate preferred
  • Five (5) years of higher education leadership/management experience
  • Five (5) years of classroom experience teaching health professions education
  • Five (5) years of experience utilizing educational technology tools
  • Expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, video-conferencing tools, and computer /internet applications
  • Any equivalent combination of education, teaching, training, or management experience that meets the minimum qualifications

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Dental Hygiene license/registration and/or certification
