At Piedmont Airlines, our strength is the way we deliver industry-leading service to our customers and airline partners. To continue our standard of excellence, Piedmont is seeking a dynamic self-starting student to join us as a Corporate Communications Intern. This position supports the Corporate Communications Team. The Intern will work closely with the team to strategize, create, and present the company's message internally and externally. This position will also develop and write content for newsletters, social media, traditional media, websites, company newsletters, and videos for other platforms. The successful candidate will be a current undergraduate student with outstanding writing, research, and editing skills. This position is compensated and reports to the Director of Communications.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Communications Team to strategize, create, and present the company's message internally and externally
  • Source and create communications content, design, and copy for print, websites, company newsletters, videos, and social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
  • Travel to company locations to network with employees and gather information
  • Help build and manage the company's communications plan and calendar
  • Update the company's internal and external websites and contact lists

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Adobe Suite
  • Understanding of the basic principles of public relations and/or marketing
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively
  • Current undergraduate student working toward a degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or Public Relations
  • Outstanding writing, research, and editing skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) style for writing and editing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of industry tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Indesign, and Photoshop)
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

 

Work Environment:

  • Standard office environment, use of computers and other office equipment
  • Part-Time
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed
  • Some travel may be required

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

Starting Rate:

$16.93/Hourly
