Manager, Field Marketing

Panera is hiring for the role of Manager, Field Marketing, specifically supporting franchise markets. This role reports into the Franchise Sr. Regional Marketing Managers and is responsible for managing local marketing tools, communication, and creative resources to support the development and execution of effective and efficient marketing plans aligned with business key initiatives.

This role will work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners on developing timely and effective communication and tools that help build long term value and achieve sales goals. To be successful, the right candidate will continually look for opportunities to improve processes, communication channels, and existing resources to ensure optimal results. In all situations, they will seek to understand the perspective of our guests, Operators, and Franchise teams to provide solutions that best achieve the broader business objectives.

The ideal candidate is passionate about the brand, self-motivated, customer-focused, demonstrates strong communication skills, has exemplary time management skills, and can effectively balance multiple projects for different internal and external customers with competing deadlines. 

Position may be located remotely (home office) or in a support center location (St. Louis or Boston).

Local Marketing

  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop tools and creative resources supporting local marketing tactics aligned with key business initiatives.

  • Maintain resource guides, creative templates, and best practices for grand openings, relocations, remodels, drive-thru conversions, and underperforming bakery-cafes, ensuring projected sales goals are achieved.

  • Support franchise local media plans through activity tracking, creative development and versioning, post-activity analysis, and communication of results and key learnings.

  • Manage the franchise local social post calendar including strategy, communication, and implementation.

  • Facilitate approvals, set-up, and post-activity reporting for limited time offer requests in franchise markets.

  • Support Sr Regional Marketing Managers in onboarding new franchise groups.


  • Develop timely and effective communication of time-sensitive updates, campaign roll-outs, new resources and processes, and weekly marketing activity to ensure franchise marketing and catering teams are aware of upcoming activity.

  • Serve as communication liaison between franchise field-based customers and the Brand & Concept department, responding to all inquiries in a timely manner to ensure local marketing contacts have the tools and resources necessary to confidently and accurately perform their job functions.

Creative Resource Management

  • Work with internal design team and external partners to develop and maintain a library of creative resources supporting key initiatives for growing the business.

  • Ensure new resources are communicated and available through all appropriate channels aligned with campaign launch dates.

  • Review and manage all franchise creative requests from initiation to completion.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field.

  • 3+ years' job related/industry experience, preferably within the restaurant, hospitality, or retail industry.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal, including giving presentations).

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers and external partners.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with InDesign, or other design software preferred.
