Job Description: Working assigned shifts, you will be responsible for completing investigations and incident reports. You will be expected to perform constant patrols and interact with tenants and members of the public to provide direction and promote good customer service while providing a security presence. Respond to all emergencies and take the lead role in all incidents involving violent individuals. You will be required to conduct arrests, enforce mall rules, and remove undesirables from the property.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor surveillance systems, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Dispatch security personnel in response to incidents, alarms, or service requests.
  • Maintain accurate records of all calls, incidents, and daily activities.
  • Communicate effectively with on-site security teams, management, emergency services, and mall tenants.
  • Perform regular checks of security equipment and systems to ensure functionality.
  • Support incident investigations through video retrieval and data collection.
  • Follow all site-specific protocols and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a dispatch or control center environment preferred.
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills.
  • Must have at least 1 year of mall security or relevant experience
  • Proficient with computer systems and security-related software.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Availability for all listed shifts, including overnights and weekends.
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence and the ability to work productively and efficiently in a team

Prerequisites:

  • Legally Authorized to Work in Canada
  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
  • Valid standard First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
  • Covid Vaccine two doses
  • Valid G class Driver License
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
