Overview Job Skills / Requirements

Working within Paladin's Innovation & Technology team, the Automation & Reporting Developer partners with stakeholders to understand business needs and build reliable automation solutions using Python, Power Apps, and RPA. The role combines process analysis, solution development, and data analytics.

The position also involves identifying data and reporting requirements and translating them into clear, actionable dashboards in Power BI.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, build, and maintain automation and system integrations to reduce manual work and improve efficiency
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI and related reporting tools
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into automation, reporting, and data solutions
  • Test, validate, and troubleshoot automation solutions to ensure reliability and alignment with business needs
  • Monitor and maintain production automations and reports, resolving issues and optimizing performance over time
  • Document processes, technical specifications, and automation logic, including process maps and user guides
  • Support end users and help them adopt automated solutions and reporting tools
  • Work with IT and data teams to ensure solutions follow architecture, data governance, and organizational standards.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet organizational requirements

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Must Have:

  • Strong programming fundamentals, preferably in Python, including reusable code, functions, classes, and object-oriented design
  • Proficiency with SQL and experience building and maintaining Power BI reports (DAX, Power Query, Report Builder)
  • Strong business analysis skills, with the ability to understand complex or messy processes and turn them into clear, practical solutions
  • Excellent communication skills, especially the ability to work effectively with non-technical and senior stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of business process management and workflow design
  • Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced team environment and taking ownership across a wide range of responsibilities

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with DevOps practices, including code release cycles and agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum)
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
  • Experience working with Azure services
  • Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and database management
  • A four-year degree in a science- or business-related field, or equivalent practical experience
