SALARY: $15.00 Hourly OPEN TO ONEIDA ENROLLED TRIBAL MEMBERS ONLY
NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK:32 HOURS PER WEEK
INTERN DUTIES/PROJECTS
- Learn to maintain library collection, books videos, and audios.
- Learn to process materials.
- Assist library clientele with reference needs using electronic databases, locate materials.
- Learn to use software and library equipment such as Internet, computers, camera, etc.
- Assist staff with maintaining a professional library environment including book displays, bulletin board, decorations and light housekeeping.
- Contribute to a team effort.
- Learn to record and maintain statistical data of library materials and clientele operating procedures, and area and program strategic plans and policies.
- Maintain strict department security, confidentiality and quality to meet professional standards of the department.
- Practice excellent customer service skills at all times to include, but not limited to, addressing customer and employee needs courteously and promptly.

- Major in Library Studies, Education, Early Childhood, First Nation Studies, Communications, English, or Information Technology.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, crawl, reach above shoulder level, crouch, kneel, push/pull; use hands and arms, talk and hear; lift and carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Occasionally balance, lift and carry up to thirty (30) pounds.
- Work is generally performed in a library setting with a moderate noise level.
- A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability and willingness to continue training from the Outagamie/Waupaca Library Automated System and the Nicolet Federated Library System.
- Ability and willingness to complete training in library sciences which include, but not limited to, Reference, Information Services, Bibliographic Control of Materials and Basic Cataloging.
- Ability to work successfully with children, teens, young adults, and elders.
- Ability to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for the Library clientele.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective, working relationships with a variety of age groups and personalities in a complex, multi- cultural environment.
- Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed/requested.
- Complete Oneida Certification on Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect within ninety (90) days of employment.
- Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters. (Must sign a confidentiality statement prior to employment.)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must adhere to the Nation's Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.
- Must pass a background security check with the Oneida Nation in order to meet the Employment Eligibility Requirements, Tribal/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance as they pertain to the position. A temporary license or Gaming License issued by the Oneida Gaming Commission is required as a condition of employment and continuing employment within the Oneida Nation's Gaming Division.
