Summary:
Continuously develop, lead, coordinate and execute the Nation's comprehensive governmental strategy and municipal relations relating to Oneida Nation. This position will work closely with the Oneida Business Committee, Intergovernmental Affairs & Communications, and Executive Management. This is a contracted position.
Responsibilities:
* Lead, coordinates, executes, and continuously develops the detailed governmental strategy to enhance municipal relations and promote the Nation's strategic goals.
* Formalize and lead the strategic planning process, focusing on long term trends and outlook, and competitive intelligence.
* Acts as a key advisor to the Oneida Business Committee, General Manager and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs & Communications on critical changes in the competitive landscape and on local political environment.
* Communicate, engage, and interact with the Oneida Business Committee and Executive management frequently
* Advises Nations leadership, Intergovernmental Affairs & Communications, and Executive Management of strategic options in executing the governmental strategy.
* Devise a strategic campaign to include timelines that will enhance local governmental relations and assist in the Nation's strategic objectives.
* Establish and maintain positive relationships within the surrounding communities and municipalities
* Promote and practice the Nation's image of A Good Heart, A Good Mind, and a Strong Fire.
* Provide reports and recommendations to the Oneida Business Committee, Intergovernmental Affairs and Executive management.
* Communicates with professionalism, tact, and finesse to internal and external customers.
* Utilize staff and resources to produce quality content for execution of strategies.

* Knowledge of the Oneida Community and the role of the Oneida Nation to meet the needs of the Oneida Community.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.
A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
