FIRST POSTING TO ENROLLED ONEIDA TRIBAL MEMBERS ONLY


Salary is Negotiable

After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

This position will ride on the bus and monitor the children.


Responsibilities:

* Check children on/off bus.
* Assist in buckling and unbuckling seat harnesses.
* Monitor and regulate student behaviors on the bus and report problems to appropriate staff.
* Monitor safe welfare of passengers while in route and keep order on the bus.
* Assist with emergency evacuation procedures.
* Assist Bus Driver with completing post trip checks to ensure no child is left behind on the bus.
* Walk children to/from bus to the building.
* Assure children are left in care of an authorized adult.
* Remain alert, identify problems, concerns quickly and carry out solutions.
* Be familiar with all bus routes.

Skills:

Essential:
* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
* Ability to deal with the general public and Tribal employees with tact, courtesy, respect, objectivity and maturity
* Ability to make quick decisions in the case of an emergency.

Education Requirement - Or A Closely Related Field:

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* High School Diploma, HSED Diploma or GED Certification wi
* Applicants age 50 and older are exempt from this requirement

Credentials:
Nonessential:

* Must obtain Food Handlers upon hire and annually thereafter.
* Civil Rights Training upon hire and annually thereafter.
* Ability and willingness to obtain Oneida Certification on reporting Child Abuse and Neglect is required upon hire and annually thereafter.
* Ability to obtain Shaken Baby Syndrome training upon hire and annually thereafter.
* Must be CPR and Red Cross First Aide Certified or the ability to obtain within three (3) months of employment. Must maintain CPR and Red Cross First Aide Certification during employment.

Must pass a background check to meet Employment Eligibility Requirements. If applicable, must pass a background check to meet Oneida Nation/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance, and may be required to obtain a temporary license and/or Gaming license as a condition of employment.

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
