Description

NJM's General Claims Legal Department is currently seeking to fill a PIP Appeals and Litigation (PAL) Supervisor position in the Hammonton office.  The Supervisor will maximize operational effectiveness, execute deliverables, and efficiently use the various resources provided to them. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor workloads, productivity, and quality to maximize litigation resources and ensure legal outcomes consistent with NJM litigation strategy. 
  • Utilize litigation reports to track and trend data to proactively identify and resolve PIP issues.
  • Instruct and counsel team members on new Regulations, as well as new and modified strategies and responsibilities.
  • Review claims representative's work product for accuracy, thoroughness, and conformity with NJM's policies and practices.
  • Communicate with defense counsel regarding claim specifics and/or legal issues.
  • Collaborate and communicate cross-departmentally regarding PIP claims and appeals handling related to pending litigation.
  • Focus on employee development and team efficiency. Provide leadership to assigned staff including regular coaching and feedback, development, and performance management in conformity with NJM's policies and practices. 
  • Document ongoing employee performance and conduct employee performance evaluations.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years PIP No-Fault experience with a focus in New Jersey Appeals and Litigation.  Supervisory experience preferred but not required.
  • Strong understanding of MCS PIP claims handling process and technologies.
  • Forward thinker and considers long-term and broader implications of decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, ability to prioritize, detail oriented and decision-making capabilities.

  • Travel to all NJM offices is required.
