JOB DESCRIPTION: General Manager, Tool Department   

Summary:

The General Managers goal is to facilitate a positive experience with Nextracker. He/she ensures that Nextracker's products and installation out-perform customer expectations and are of the highest quality possible and develops customer loyalty by optimizing the product to the customer's needs while providing great technical support services on the Nextracker product. The General Manager for the Tool Department will focus on the customer experience around the tooling used to install Nextracker systems, focused on the Tool Service Offerings, Tool Strategy, Tooling Availability, and overall success of the critical aspect of our system installation.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain technical understanding of PV solar tracking systems associated tools
• Have strong customer care experience and be able to effectively communicate resolutions for customer concerns
• Responsible for managing team that provides tooling services, technical support, and tooling strategy
• Oversee the daily project work flow of the team members in Nextrackers Tool Department
• Schedule onsite tool training, maintenance programs, subcontractor training, quality control
• Works with cross functional team to develop needed revenue forecasts
• Provide customer field support for installation and quality control
• Support Nextracker product procurement, logistics, and inventory
• Establishes and measures key performance indicators for customer care to drive behavior and performance
• Presents the ongoing results to management and to customers
• Plays key role in cross-functional product teams, providing recommendations based on systems integration expertise and customer needs assessments and feedback
• Supports product development, sales, and marketing as requested
• Internal customer voice. An advocate for the customer within Nextracker
• Supervision of multiple team members including coordinators, technicians, and program managers
• Ensure P&L and budget is managed and presentable to upper management
• Assure key documentation and training is available for all tooling
   

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience 
• Minimum 10 years of experience across Solar, Construction Tools, and Business Management.
• Strong knowledge of PV technology and its applications
• Excellent customer service skills
• Experience in supply chain procurement and logistics
• Understanding of dealing with customer support
• Extensive hands-on experience with photovoltaic tracking solar systems a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities
• Passion for solar is a plus
• 10%-20% travel required, both domestic and internationally.
