The NCH Rooney Heart Institute
The NCH Rooney Heart Institute (RHI) is an integrated surgical/cardiology practice that offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. The institute boasts a fully equipped cardiothoracic surgical service, having conducted 690 open-heart surgeries, 2,500 catheterization procedures, and admitting 3,375 cardiac cases.
The Institute is home to a dedicated Research Foundation, actively engaged in clinical research. It also hosts a thriving Structural Heart Program and Cardiology Fellowship, along with a strong radiology partnership. Continuous physician and community educational activities are carried out, with the annual Naples Cardiovascular Summit being the highlight.
Requirements:
Candidates must have successfully completed ACGME-accredited Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship programs. Board certification in cardiology is mandatory, and candidates should be subspecialty boarded in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation.
Candidates must demonstrate clinical competence and expertise in caring for patients with mechanical circulatory devices, including ECMO. Proficiency in Cardiomyopathies is also required, with an expressed interest in developing and leading a Cardiomyopathy Clinic.
The selected candidate will be responsible for regular attending duties within both the Heart Institute and the section of Advanced Heart Failure. Additionally, they will actively participate in the teaching and training of fellows, house staff, and medical students.
