Position: Supply Chain Technician, Mercy Stoddard

 

Department: Materials Management

 

Shift: Part-Time (20 hours week) Days

Overview:

 

Supply Chain Technician will utilize supply chain software systems to fill, order, stock, distribute, and receive both supplies and linen along with assisting with the management of PAR inventories. Ensure appropriate supplies are stocked, delivered, and inventory is adequately stocked in multiple locations.

 

Job Descripton:

 

Procures correct requested supply(s).
Issues supply via SC software system to appropriate requesting location.

 

STOCK/DISTRIBUTE SUPPLIES
Assures correct product/quantity is received for stocking.
Places supply in appropriate bin or par location.
Assures package integrity and sterility (if applicable).
Assures correct patient charging label is on packaging and prints labels, as necessary.
Stocks supply specialty carts.
Accurately counts inventory following SOP and tracking of delivery using SC software.
Rotates stock to avoid expired products.
Notifies inventory control when inventory is low to assure order has been placed.
Delivers requested supplies to correct location.
Follows policy/procedure regarding signatures of receiving dept. Co-worker, if applicable.


RECEIVING
Accurately receives supplies/equipment via SC software system.
Reports variances per procedure.
Prepares supplies/equipment for distribution.
Responsible for research and resolution of lost packages.

CUSTOMER SERVICE
Ability to make service recovery decisions per departmental policy.
Utilizes time in a productive manner to the benefit of Mercy.

TECHNOLOGY
Possesses intermediate computer knowledge and demonstrates proficiency when using SC software system.
Performs data entry functions (issue/transfer/tracking/credit/etc.) accurately.
Completes in-services and mandatories in a timely manner using a PC.
Ability to review pay information via computer without assistance.
Requests scheduled PTO through time clock (DSD) without assistance.
Demonstrates ability to use basic Microsoft Office software functions, as necessary.

SAFETY/RISK MANAGEMENT
Adheres to hospital safety and infection control regulations.
Complies with all hospital and departmental policies/procedures.

PRECEPTOR
Assists with training new co-workers during orientation and annual training for the department.

PERFORMS ADDITIONAL DUTIES FOR SC THAT REQUIRES ADDITIONAL TRAINING/LICENSURE ABOVE AND BEYOND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES.

Assists with projects.

In addition where applicable by location 

Linens 
Assures linen is stocked to the designated PAR level as assigned.
Places linen in appropriate closet, exchange cart, or par location.
Assures linen is handled properly to ensure it is clean and safe for patient use.
Assures accurate data is recorded and entered to capture stocking quantities for all areas assigned, as necessary.
Stocks linen blanket warmers if applicable.
Rotates stock to ensure linen is turned regularly.
Identifies linen that does not meet hospital quality standards and handles it per department process. 
Handles soiled linen appropriately per department practices, if applicable.
Notifies department leadership and/or vendor when inventory is low to assure order has been placed.
Delivers requested linen to correct location.
Utilizes software to manage deliveries and pickups performed by TUGs or other robotics, if applicable.

Equipment Distribution/Pickup
Procures requested equipment and distributes to accurate location per policy.
Picks up equipment following infection control guidelines of hospital.
Assembles equipment, as necessary.
Cleans equipment per infection prevention guidelines and identifies equipment as ready for use per department policy
Cleans and stages broken equipment for Clinical Engineering pick-up, as needed

Performs other work duties as assigned as included below but not limited to:

Minimum Required Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
