Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the overall operation of the Diagnostic Imaging Department to include staff radiographers and clerical personnel at both facilities. Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards as it relates to the care provided to all age groups of patients ranging from neonate to geriatric. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in QRM activities. Assures competency of all personnel. Assists in formulating the budget. Maintains efficient and effective department operation while requiring compliance with all JCAHO, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols. May be assigned weekend and on-call work. Is subject to stooping, bending and lifting in the positioning and transportation of patients. All aspects of work are done in accordance with Mercy values and mission.
- Education: Associate's Degree Graduation from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college affiliated or hospital trained.
- Licensure: Certified by the State of Missouri to practice and administer radiation.
- Experience: Some background in Diagnostic Imaging administration; experience such as Supervisor or Assistant Director. At least three (3) active years in a department with diagnostic and special procedures experience.Current membership and active participation in the Radiologic Technologist professional organization.
- Certifications: ARRT Certification Current BLS certification
