Overview:

 

Under the Direction of the Radiation Oncologist, and Department Director, the Radiation Oncology Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight of Radiation Therapy Services. This includes maintaining daily operations with productivity, providing direct supervision and training to Radiation Oncology Staff, performing administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Oncology Services, performing treatment planning simulations and administering a prescribed course of ionizing radiation to cancer patients as well as maintaining accurate patient treatment records. The supervisor provides overall technical guidance and leadership for all disciplines at the cancer center and acts as a channel for communication reporting to the Director of Oncology Services. He or she performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Experience as a Radiation Therapist is required
  • Required Education: Graduated from a program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education and Accreditation for Radiation Therapy Technology
  • Preferred Education: 2+ years experience as a Radiation Therapist is preferred. Prior experience in lead/leadership capacity preferred.
  • Certifications: Credentialed in Radiation Therapy Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Licensure by appropriate state board(s) for location(s) of practice
