Mercy Hospital South is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Medical/Surgical teams. This role is open to both experienced RNs and new graduate nurses seeking a supportive, team‑oriented environment with strong clinical exposure and opportunities for growth.
Our Med/Surg units care for diverse patient populations and offer collaborative teamwork, schedule flexibility, and a strong foundation for continued skill development, while supporting work‑life balance.
Schedule & Shift Options
• Full‑Time: 36 hours per week
• Part-Time: 24 hours per week
• Shifts Options:
• Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 12‑hour shifts
• Self-scheduling available
• Free on-campus parking
Sign‑On Bonus (No Contract Required)
• Up to $10,000 for Experienced Registered Nurses
• Up to $5,000 for New Graduate Registered Nurses (less than one year of experience)
Relocation Assistance
• Up to $3,000 available for eligible out‑of‑state candidates relocating to the St. Louis, MO area to join Mercy Hospital South

The Medical‑Surgical RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include care coordination, patient safety, documentation, and the delivery of compassionate care aligned with Mercy's mission and values.

Mercy Hospital South offers a variety of Medical‑Surgical and specialty inpatient units. Whether you're a new graduate or an experienced RN, our team will work with you to match your skills, interests, and career goals to the right unit.
Available Units Include:
- Inpatient Med/Surg – Broad medical diagnoses; ideal for building a strong Med/Surg foundation
- Med Surg 5E & 5W – Diverse adult medical patients with a focus on assessment, critical thinking, and care coordination
- General Surgery (3W) – Post‑operative care including abdominal, bariatric, and complex surgical patients
- Medical Telemetry (7E) – Med/Surg patients requiring cardiac monitoring and fast‑paced acute care
- Medical 7W – Acute medical management with strong focus on prioritization and clinical judgment
- Neurology (8E) – Care for stroke, seizure, and neuro patients with interdisciplinary support
- Orthopedics – Post‑op joint replacement, spine, and orthopedic recovery
- Oncology (8W) – Compassionate care for cancer treatment, symptom management, and end‑of‑life care

Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
(or within 30 days of hire)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior hospital or acute‑care nursing experience
- Specialty certifications
New graduate nurses are encouraged to apply.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
