Overview:

The Staff Physical Therapist upon the referral of a patient by a Medical Staff Member, evaluates the patients functional abilities, develops functional treatment goals and times frames, establishes the patients rehabilitation potential, and develops a treatment program which will achieve the treatment goals. The incumbent shall asses in an ongoing manner the patients response and effectiveness of treatment, modifying or discontinuing treatment as needed, conferring with the referring physician as necessary. The incumbent shall provide home treatment education and program development, written documentation of initial patient evaluations, progress notes, discharge notes, and other reports as requested. The incumbent shall safety and effectively provide professional patient care services. The incumbent shall address appropriately the age specific needs for all patients. The incumbent will treat patients and families with respect and dignity. Patient's pain will be addressed and treated according to the department's pain management policy. It is the philosopMercy SEMMC to optimize patient's comfort while they are in the hospital. The incumbent will identify and report any patient safety issue when identified. The Physical Therapist shall provide technical assistance and direction to the Rehab Tech, and coordinates the workload in the department as directed.


Qualifications:

  • Education: The Physical Therapist shall have a minimum of a BS degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Licensure: The Physical Therapist shall hold a current license to practice Physical Therapy from the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy.
  • Experience: Staff Physical Therapist may be entry level.
  • Certifications: American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support Certification.
