Are you passionate about providing exceptional customer service and helping patients feel welcomed, informed, and supported throughout their healthcare journey? Mercy's Heart Hospital Clinic is seeking a Patient Services Representative to serve as the first point of contact for our patients and play a key role in delivering an outstanding patient experience.

In this fast-paced and rewarding role, you'll combine your customer service expertise, organizational skills, and attention to detail to help ensure smooth daily clinic operations while supporting both patients and clinical staff.

What You'll Do

As a Patient Services Representative, you will:

✅ Welcome and assist patients with professionalism, compassion, and courtesy

✅ Check patients in and out, verify demographic and insurance information, and schedule appointments

✅ Answer incoming calls and assist patients with questions and appointment needs

✅ Maintain accurate electronic health records and patient documentation in Epic

✅ Coordinate testing, procedures, and referrals while providing cost estimates and good faith estimates in compliance with the No Surprise Billing Act

✅ Manage work queues, registration corrections, accounts receivable activities, and patient payment plans

✅ Communicate effectively with providers, staff, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care

✅ Resolve patient concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner

✅ Balance and reconcile daily cash drawer transactions

✅ Support clinic operations through general clerical duties including scanning, faxing, copying, and handling correspondence

✅ Champion new initiatives, workflow improvements, and Epic system updates

What We're Looking For Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Medical office, healthcare, or customer service experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance processes, and billing procedures
  • Experience with Epic or electronic health records systems
