The Patient Care Associate performs direct patient care, including assessment, evaluation, and implementation of basic and advanced life support.  Performs clerical, maintenance duties and patient care duties.  Assists in the Emergency Room, and throughout the hospital where needed, as not to delay response time.  Works under the supervision of Physicians and Registered Nurses.  Reports to the Director of Nursing.  Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.



  • Education: High school diploma or GED

  • Experience: Previous Healthcare experience preferred

  • Certifications: PCA (Patient Care Associate) Training and BLS before caring for patients independently

  • Other skills & knowledge:  Excellent interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills are required. Requires the skill to provide care for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients of all ages.
