✅ Qualifications

??? Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required

??? Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited EMT-P/Paramedic program
  • Current Paramedic license in the state of practice

??? Experience

  • New graduates and experienced paramedics are encouraged to apply!

??? Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Ability to bend, lift, and assist with patient movement regularly

??? Preferred Certifications (Can be obtained during orientation if not held at time of hire)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
???️ Safety & Risk Management
  • Follow infection prevention and control protocols
  • Respond effectively to emergency and crisis situations
  • Protect patient rights, dignity, and safety
  • Support fall prevention and restraint safety initiatives
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and secure patient care environment
  • Identify and report facility maintenance or safety concerns promptly
??? Care Coordination & Team Collaboration
  • Partner with patients and families in care decisions
  • Assist RNs with admissions, discharges, and patient transitions
  • Conduct assessments as assigned and provide safe patient handoffs using SBAR
  • Communicate changes in patient condition to nurses and providers promptly
  • Support care planning, documentation, and patient outcome goals
  • Participate in competency training and quality improvement initiatives
  • Reinforce patient and family education
  • Prioritize patient care needs alongside the healthcare team
  • Delegate tasks appropriately based on competency and scope of practice
??? Primary Clinical Responsibilities
  • Administer IV push medications, including narcotics, safely and accurately
  • Verify high-risk medications and manage medication infusions
  • Monitor and manage respiratory support devices
  • Provide care for intubated patients
  • Perform patient reassessments and clinical scoring tools (RASS, CIWA)
  • Interpret EKGs and recognize critical findings
  • Complete clinical procedures including:
    • Splinting
    • Point-of-care testing
    • Removal of sutures, staples, and drains
⚡ Advanced Clinical Responsibilities
  • Manage hypothermia treatment protocols
  • Provide central line care, including flushing, dressing changes, and medication administration
  • Monitor blood product administration and respond to transfusion reactions
  • Serve as a second verifier for blood products
  • Perform ultrasound-guided and external jugular IV placement
  • Operate rapid infusion equipment
  • Provide care across all age groups
  • Transport and monitor critically ill patients safely
  • Apply and remove restraints according to policy and patient safety standards
??? Communication & Service Excellence
  • Complete discharge documentation and IV removal accurately
  • Reinforce discharge instructions and patient education
  • Utilize multi-line phone systems professionally
  • Apply the HEARTS service recovery model to enhance patient experiences
  • Keep patients and families informed with timely updates
  • Clearly communicate delays, next steps, and care expectations to ensure confidence and satisfaction
