Nurse Navigator – Mercy South: Cardiothoracic Surgery
Location: Mercy South
Schedule: Full-Time | 40 hours/week | Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities:
Provides comprehensive pre‑ and post‑operative patient education, drives quality efforts to reduce readmissions, and manages procedure scheduling.
Implement structured post‑procedure tracking to reduce readmissions.
Support daily CV clinic operations within budget and staffing guidelines.
Prepare the department for increased patient volume, including the arrival of a new CV surgeon.
Strengthen quality outcomes, patient access, and provider support.
Provide CV case‑scheduling support as procedural volume grows.
Offer cross‑coverage within the CV clinic to maintain patient flow and operational efficiency.
Offload non‑procedural and care‑coordination tasks from APPs to enhance access and allow top‑of‑scope practice.
Qualifications
Licensure: Current RN (Registered Nurse) license in state of Missouri.
Required Education: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Required Certifications: Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Preferred Certifications: ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support
