Medical Assistants (MA) in the medical office setting supports providers by delivering direct and indirect patient care in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner. The MA may assist with clinical procedures, maintains accurate documentation, and provides administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. The MA functions within their defined scope of practice (based on office type clinic/HOD), under supervision, and in alignment with Mercy's mission and standards of care. Position Details:

Rooming Medical Assistant & Front Desk Support
Overview:
- Prepares Women's Health patient for Minimally Invasive Gynecology, UroGynecology, and Integrative Gynecology physician visits by completing the Mercy Advanced Standard rooming process which includes: entering chief complaint; taking vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies; completing a thorough medication reconciliation; working the Encounter Guide, closing any open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, and diabetic eye exams; rechecking elevated blood pressures; and completing needed documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits as needed.
- Assists with in-office procedures/testing including, but not limited to the following: endometrial biopsy, bladder scanning, point of care testing, etc.
- Administers injections within scope of practice.
- Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.
- Demonstrates effective patient safety techniques and infection control.
- Supports the Patient Service Representative at the front desk e.g. document scanning, workqueue management, check-in, check-out, etc.
- Schedules appointments per physician protocol.
- Works as part of the clinic team in an effective and efficient manner to provide compassionate care and exceptional service.
