Overview:
The Manager of Perioperative Support plays a pivotal role in the efficient operation of a large anesthesia department. This individual oversees a wide range of administrative and operational duties to ensure the efficiency, safety, and effectivity are maintained within in the department.
They provide strong, servant‑minded leadership and clear direction for the department, consistently prioritizing the needs of patients, Caregivers, and the organization. As a detail‑oriented leader, they actively manage day‑to‑day operations, including complex scheduling demands, demonstrating a high degree of flexibility when navigating unexpected events or shifting priorities.
This individual exercises sound judgment and decisive problem‑solving skills, appropriately seeking the expertise of others when needed to support the best outcomes.
With a focus on fostering a culture reflective of Mercy's values, they invest in building strong relationships through open communication, transparency, and personal accountability. Their commitment to servant leadership helps cultivate an engaged, motivated, and high‑performing department.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or nursing
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of leadership over a large group of people and knowledge of clinical operations preferred.
- Other: Demonstrated leadership ability Significant experience in management/marketing/business development Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Ability to analyze complex data and implement business/marketing plans Past experiences must have demonstrated leadership ability, good interpersonal skills and the ability to apply sound principles of management and supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Manages others in a kind, courteous and professional manner. Demonstrates the ability to evaluate financial reports to support business decisions applicable for growth in Perinatal Services. Must be proficient in use of a personal computer and must be able to analyze complex data from various information systems.
- Preferred Education: Master's degree in related field
