Overview:

 

Responsible for assisting the Hospital Administrator/Director of Nursing in the delivery of safe, quality, and cost-efficient care by having competent staff members in the OB Department. Consults with physicians and the Hospital Administrator/Director of Nursing on nursing issues and the interpretations of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met.  Communicates administrative directives to staff and conducts staff meetings on a consistent basis. Maintains competency evaluations on all staff and is responsible for yearly evaluations, scheduling, hiring, and daily flow within the department.  Ensures efficient utilization of available resources and meets productive and/or financial goals. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.


Qualifications:

 

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred.

Current licensure in the State of Missouri as a Registered Professional Nurse

Minimum of 3 years experience in nursing. Previous leadership/management experience preferred.

BLS, ACLS, NRP Certification required within 90 days of hire.

Demonstrates skill in human relations and communications is required. Must have demonstrated clinical expertise in their area of responsibility.
