In keeping with the mission of the Sisters of Mercy, it is the responsibility of the Licensed Practical Nurse to provide excellent nursing care to all patients at North Logan Mercy Hospital.
- Education: Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
Licensure: Current LPN licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing. New graduates may work with temporary licensure until permanent licensure is obtained.
Experience: Entry Level
Other: Under the direct supervision of the RN Team Leader, the licensed practical nurse is responsible for the delivery of care to a caseload of patients. She/He plans and delivers quality patient care utilizing the nursing process and within appropriate resources. Documentation of nursing care is complete and appropriate. The LPN identifies actual risk to patients and others and initiates action to prevent risk. He/she is able to make supervised clinical decisions. The LPN participates in programs and projects toward professional growth and development of self. The nurse assists with the implementation of educational programs for patients and their families, and uses effective communication principles and skills to achieve desired outcomes. The LPN participates in unit QA activities.
