Overview:

This is a REMOTE position.

 

The Health Economics and Performance Optimization Lead Analyst manages the overall coordination of analytics projects and ensures projects meet time and scope requirements and the needs of stakeholders.
Coordinates with Mercy clinical and operational stakeholders, external partners, and IT staff to scope and create analytical solutions to advance Mercy's performance across value-based agreements and primary care.

Partners with stakeholders to develop plan for implementation and enhancement of analytical solutions.

Serves as subject matter expert of analytical solutions post-implementation.

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.  

•    Manages or consults the analytical approach for multiple initiatives or projects related to primary care or value-based performance across Mercy
•    Creates operational, economic, clinical or statistical analysis to evaluate performance and drive performance in primary care and value-based agreements; analyze data for trends, outliers and make recommendations for improvement. 
•    Demonstrates credibility as a subject matter expert of analytical approaches to reach goals and objectives of primary care and value-based agreements 
•    Exhibits high level of service with internal and external stakeholders by establishing strong partnerships and sense of team
•    Assesses impact of historical performance compared to best possible and expected scenarios
•    Ensures analytical solutions are delivered with high degree of quality and reliability within scope and on time
•    Synthesizes data/information to help stakeholders make decisions to drive performance and improve patient care
•    Connects analytical solutions to patient care and operations, i.e., make data actionable
•    Tests new logic, compares output to industry standards, troubleshoots reasons for outliers, and suggests changes in the logic to improve accuracy of statistical calculations.
•    Analyzes programming and software issues relative to system analysis, data management, and data analysis requirements.
•    Ensures strategic alignment of analytical solutions with clinical and business needs
•    Identifies opportunities for cross-functional participation and connects with appropriate coworkers (business, clinical, technical), providers, physicians or leaders
•    Performs other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Eight years of relevant technical, business or clinical work experience 
  • Required Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, finance, economics, health management or related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience. 
  • Preferred Education: Master's degree in related field
  • Certifications: Epic data model certification or obtain within 6-months of hire date
    Certification in Mercy's health economics platform within 6-months of hire date
  • Other: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
    Highly proficient with development of BI applications, e.g., PowerBI, Tableau 
    Highly proficient in programming language, e.g., SQL, SAS, R
