Department: Float Pool - Mercy STL - Ballas Campus ???

Hours / Shift: Full time or Part time Nights only

Must be able to work 2 - 12 hour shifts per week or more - year around

??? Responsibilities for Patient Care Associate (PCA):

• Obtain vital signs and document in the electronic medical record system ???
• Assist with patient care needs, including:
  • Meals
  • Bathing
  • Toileting
  • Ambulation
  • Mobility assistance
  • Patient transport
• Provide clerical support as needed

??? Responsibilities for Patient Care Technician (PCT):

• Perform all PCA job duties
• Phlebotomy / blood cultures
• Enteral feeding
• Wound care
• IV / Foley removal
• Tracheostomy care & suctioning

??? Training

• Our Patient Care Associate Training Program is an accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program
• Gain hands-on experience in a supportive healthcare environment

??? No Experience? No Problem!

• Mercy provides a required 175-hour training program that meets Department of Health and Senior Services requirements
• Training is completed during new hire orientation and must be finished within 90 days

??? Certifications Requirements:

• BLS required within 1 month of hire
• PCA competencies completed within 3 months of hire

✅ Qualifications

??? Education:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• CNA/CPTC or
• Currently enrolled in a healthcare program
• OR current Mercy co-worker

??? Experience:

• None required

??? Physical Requirements

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds regularly ???️
• Prolonged standing and walking during shifts ???‍♂️
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat ???

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) ???️
