Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patients care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patients' rights and confidentiality of patient information. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the goals of Mercy Health System, the Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the State Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics, and the Co-Worker Code of Conduct. The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. The RN evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinates patient care collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. This position upholds patient rights, maintains confidentiality, and performs all duties in alignment with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.

Position Responsibilities

  • Deliver competent, compassionate nursing care to patients

  • Float to the following clinical areas as needed:

    • Med Surg

    • Orthopedics

    • Cardiac

    • Cardiac Neuro

    • Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

    • Critical Care

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective patient outcomes

  • Serve as a resource to unit staff by sharing skills, clinical knowledge, and best practices

  • Adapt quickly to varying workflows, patient needs, and unit requirements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Current Arkansas RN license

  • BLS certification (must be current)

  • ACLS & NIHSS – required within 90 days of hire

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • 2+ years of critical care experience
